OurAirportsAirport identifiers, names, coordinates, elevations and runway dimensions. 9,785 fields are carried in this build — every airport that takes scheduled service, plus the medium and large fields behind them.Public domain
EUROCONTROL Aircraft Performance DatabaseOne of three references for each of the twelve airliners, turboprops and other types it covers, and the source of the range or cruise speed where no manufacturer figure was found. Where a manufacturer's own page disagrees, its figure is used. EUROCONTROL describes these figures as indicative only.Indicative data · see source
Natural EarthCoastlines and land polygons at 1:110m, and the graticule, on every basemap on the site; and the country borders on the Traditional and Satellite map styles.Public domain
NASA Visible Earth · Blue Marble Next GenerationThe Satellite map style: September's cloud-free imagery with topography and bathymetry (Reto Stöckli, NASA Earth Observatory), reprojected in the browser. Served from Overfly's own files.Public domain
NOAA PSL · NCEP/NCAR ReanalysisThe seasonal wind model: each month's average upper wind, 1991–2020, on a 2.5° grid, sampled along the track at the cruise level. Data provided by the NOAA PSL, Boulder, Colorado, USA, from their website at https://psl.noaa.gov. Served from Overfly's own files.Public domain
IANA time zone databaseThe zone for every field, resolved from its coordinate, so local times follow daylight saving on the date you pick rather than assuming it.Public domain
Geist Sans · Geist MonoThe interface and figure typefaces. Self-hosted, the printed brief and trip summary included — no third-party font service is called.SIL OFL 1.1

What is stored on your device

Overfly's own code sets no cookies. Visits are counted with Google Analytics, and the ads, in labelled boxes on the map and route pages and placed by Google on most other pages, come from Google; both set cookies. Nothing is stored on your device unless you ask for it. The privacy page has the detail.

Recent routesOnly if you choose to keep them. The last twelve routes you entered, as you typed them, held in this browser's local storage. Never sent to Overfly, and no account is involved. Clear them any time from the menu, or by clearing site data.Opt in
Display preferencesDistance and speed units, aircraft type including a custom profile, cruise setting, and whether you last used Simple or Flight Ops mode. Stored alongside your routes under the same choice.Opt in
Shared linksA link from Share carries the chart in the address itself — nothing is uploaded, no record is kept and no account is involved. Pressing Share does put that address in this browser's history, and anyone you send it to can read the chart from the link. Email opens a draft in your own mail app; Overfly never sees an address. In the link
FOUND SOMETHING WRONG

Runway lengths and elevations come from OurAirports, so corrections belong there — fix it once and every tool built on it improves. For anything Overfly itself gets wrong, send the route.
